The Tempest | 5th & 6th June | 7pm

THIS IS A SCHOOLS PERFORMANCE AT THE PERFOMING ARTS CENTRE, ST CATHERINES CAMPUS

Magic, monsters, mayhem — and Dame Judi Dench! Shakespeare’s Tempest sets sail this June!

Our upcoming Summer Shakespeare production promises to be a rare treat for theatre lovers!

Directed by our Chaplain, Mother Alycia and featuring a stunning cast of our award-winning LAMDA Shakespeare actors, as well as a cameo vocal performance from legendary Shakespeare actress, Dame Judi Dench.

A famous advocate of all things Shakespeare, Dame Judi has been a huge inspiration to our Shakespeare performers. In her communications with the cast, she showed them incredible support and shared with them tales of her own journey with The Tempest. It is one of her favourite Shakespeare plays, and she performed an extract from it for her very first drama school audition — the rest is history!

As Dame Judi is also a great nature lover and The Tempest is Shakespeare’s most environmental play, members of the Tempest cast created beautiful artwork inspired by the thirty trees and plants referenced in the play, as a gift for Dame Judi. Touched by their kindness, Dame Judi agreed to join them virtually, by taking on the role of “The Narrator” in the production. Her velvet tones will introduce The Tempest  to the audience.

Friday 5th June & Saturday, 6th June 2026
7:00pm
Ticket £4 (adults) / £2 (students) + booking fees

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT AT THE BLAKE THEATRE AND IS PERFORMED BY STUDENTS OF THE SCHOOL.

As a “Thank you” to Dame Judi, the cast and production team have decided that all proceeds from tickets sales will go The Woodland Trust — Dame Judi is one of their ambassadors — to establish a grove of trees in her honour.
