Sat 28 Mar 2020, 7.30pm. Mozart’s Requiem and Schubert’s Mass No 4 in C Major.
Mozart’s Requiem is one of the greatest and most intriguing works in the choral repertoire, and its
dual authorship adds fascination to its enduring musical beauty. The majestic and serious tone is in
marked contrast to the lightness of touch we hear in Schubert’s Mass in C major, a youthful work
which learned much from Mozart’s own earlier music. This concert offers the height of Classical
sophistication and elegance.
