The Denmark Street Big Band are based in London’s West End and pay homage to the finest musical street in the world. They are an established professional, swing and dance orchestra. The band’s experience and knowledge has produced almost a hundred different themed shows all over the UK in a variety of styles using their extensive music library.
The band are regulars on the London Jazz scene and performed at the Pizza Express, The Hideaway, The Hippodrome Casino and the Jazz Café Posk and hold residencies at the venues as well as Big Band week at Potters and Warner’s Leisure venues. Their current UK tours include Sinatra and Me, The Bobby Darin Story and a tribute to Quincy Jones.
This show is a celebration of two of Wales great performers; Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey! The show features special guest vocalists Liza Baker and Dean Jones.
Dean Jones comes from Mountain Ash, which is the same South Wales valley, from where the real Tom Jones came from.
Dean’s Tom Jones tribute has evolved from two amazing facts; Dean is very similar in appearance to Sir Tom Jones and has the distinctive singing tone of the iconic legend. He performs throughout Europe and the UK with many radio and TV appearances.
Liza Baker was a contestant on TV show The Voice in 2017 and she has been singing for over 30 years. Liza has toured in shows with Christopher Biggins, the comedian Jethro, Ruth Maddocks, Max Boyce and with Shirley Bassey’s Musical Director. Liza has toured throughout the UK and Europe including Germany, Span and Guernsey with her tribute shows and is a regular guest on BBC Wales with Wyn Evan
